The Anne-Marie and Victor Loeb Foundation

Anne-Marie and Victor Loeb Foundation

Victor Loeb established the Anne-Marie and Victor Loeb Foundation with a codicil dated December 8, 1970, to the couple’s will. The collector couple Victor and Anne-Marie Loeb-Haymann donated the Loeb Collection to the Anne-Marie and Victor Loeb Foundation. The collection contains an overview of recent art history as well as testimonies to Bernese art politics, and is now stored in the Kunstmuseum Bern in order to preserve it as part of Switzerland’s – and especially the city and canton of Bern’s – cultural heritage while also making it accessible to the general public. The Kunstmuseum Bern regularly exhibits parts of the foundation’s collection, and many of the items have been temporary loans in other institutions. To this end the foundation takes care of the preservation and administration of the modern works of art in the Loeb Collection.
