Associated foundations
The associated foundations make their art collections available to us for exhibitions, have deposited their works of art such as paintings, sculptures, prints or drawings with us or are even domiciled in our building as a foundation.
With their collections, they enable us to create unique art experiences for the public.
Foundations
The foundation was established in 2007 by the Tschumi family from Wolfisberg in Kirchdorf BE. The majority of the works of art are housed in the Kunstmuseum Bern. The purpose of the foundation is to fill gaps in the holdings of the Kunstmuseum Bern and to make the donors' collection accessible to the public wherever possible. The Foundation concentrates on German and Swiss Expressionist art and follows the expressive tendencies in international post-war art.

Purchased works are to become part of the collection of the Kunstmuseum Bern.

+41 31 350 00 40Anne-Marie und Victor Loeb-Stiftung was established in 1976 and goes back to Victor Loeb's (1910 - 1974) will. He wanted to ensure that the collection, which he had built up together with his wife Anne-Marie Loeb Haymann (1916 - 1999) since the early 1960s, was preserved as a unit and made accessible to the public in a museum. The collection comprises around 350 paintings, sculptures and drawings. It has been on permanent loan to the Kunstmuseum Bern since December 1980 and complements the museum's holdings with key works of Swiss and international art from the Constructivist and post-war avant-garde periods. Since then, parts of the collection have been regularly exhibited at the Kunstmuseum Bern and temporarily loaned to museums in Switzerland and abroad.

hilar.stadler@kunstmuseumbern.chThe Swiss painter and picture book artist Ernst Kreidolf (1863 - 1956, Bern) has been regarded as the creator of the modern picture book in German-speaking countries since the publication of his flower fairy tales (1898). Up until the 1930s, he created more than a dozen imaginative picture books, including the still popular Wiesenzwerge and Ein Wintermärchen.
The Association of Friends of Ernst Kreidolf, founded in 1947, changed its name in 1996 and has since been known as the Ernst Kreidolf Association. The association not only owns the artist's painting rights, but also owns a large Kreidolf collection, which is kept in the Kunstmuseum Bern. The central task of the association is to keep the memory of Ernst Kreidolf alive, to expand the collection and to research and publicize his work through exhibitions and publications.

8268 SalensteinPaul Boesch was an artist who mediated between tradition and modernity. His works contain an important piece of Swiss history and are an expression of the continuity of a culture. With the establishment of the Paul Boesch Foundation in 2014, a monument was erected to him that reflects his ethos and carries his work into the future in the best sense of the word. Liselotte Boesch (1919 - 2011), the artist's daughter, initiated the establishment of the foundation in 2010. She wanted to create a legacy in her father's name that would support young artists and art students in the development of their work.
